Mixed Media Sculpture
My mixed-media work explores play, identity, and the joy of making through any material that sparks curiosity. Over the years, I’ve built Lego paintings in saturated rainbows, stitched intricate embroideries, created oversized glass beaded sculptures, embroidered personal narratives, and yarn-bombed campus spaces for my LGBTQ+ students.
I approach materials with openness and humor—treating objects as sites of storytelling, memory, and community. Whether it’s a beaded chair, a papier-mâché Alebrijes, or a handmade costume, these pieces celebrate experimentation and the many ways art can create connection.
